Spring & Fall rates:   $850/week (+7% Maine tax), May 20-27; Sept 1 to Oct 13

Detailed description:

This comfortable, well-equipped home is the perfect vacation headquarters for a family or for one or two couples while you explore Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island.  The well-appointed house is located on Eagle Lake Road (Route 233) one mile west of the park headquarters and Eagle Lake.  The house is less than four miles from downtown Bar Harbor with its shops, restaurants, schooner and whale-watching trips, and evening activities.

Acadia Getaway House has an open, airy living room and kitchen that look out on a furnished deck, a nicely landscaped private yard, and Sargent Mountain in the distance.  It is on its own short driveway with ample parking, surrounded by trees in an area of widely-spaced single family homes.  You can sit on the deck or under the trees and listen to the breeze blow through the pines or walk less than half a mile down Eagle Lake Road to the Aunt Betty Pond carriage road for a morning or evening run, walk, or bike ride.

Accommodations include two private bedrooms, one on each floor, each with a queen bed.  There is a queen sleep sofa in the living room.  An alcove area upstairs includes a cot.

Acadia Getaway House is fully furnished and equipped.  See details below.   An Acadia field guide, a selection of current fiction and non-fiction books, brochures, and board games are waiting for you on the house's bookshelves.  A television with CD/DVD player lets you watch your movies or listen to music.

Staying at Acadia Getaway House makes great economic sense.  Motel rooms, even without cooking facilities, cost much more per day.   Acadia Getaway House puts you close to Bar Harbor and the Park while giving you a pleasant and private place to come home to each night.
